Karazhan

Nestled within the deathly Deadwind Pass; Karazhan, the infamous but darkened Tower of Medivh, still teems with insidious life and bristles with Arcane power. The horrors unleashed by its former Master still make their home within the fallen Guardian's old sanctuary, pulsing life through the cursed halls.

The Kirin Tor has long ago sent in some of its agents under the Violet Eye into the tower, but these individuals never returned. The tower's current residents have sealed it off from any who would dare to attempt to venture into the dark spire. Simultaneously with the Shattering however, a group led by Darkshire's Althea Ebonlocke found themselves transported into the decrepit halls that were inhabited by Medivh because of the Dark Riders.

Although they made it out alive, the battles with the powerful Curator and the horrifying visions of the Opera Hall tested their fortitude and resilience. Now, they've asked the Magus Senate of Dalaran to attempt and pry open the tower and deal with whatever force keeps the tower alive. Dalaran has called for both the Covenant and Sunreavers to spread the word to the Horde and Alliance to meet with Archmage Khadgar in the floating city at the top of the Violet Citadel
.

To prevent similar bumbling events of the past, the Violet Eye and by further extension the Kirin Tor has decided to no longer accept the help from creatures that lack a higher brainfunction such as regular ogres or hobgoblins and further assistance from Mechagnomes is no longer required.
Part 1: Gathering the Apprentice's Key

Today, heroes have answered the Kirin Tor's call to release Karazhan from the dark inhabitants that plague the tower. After being briefed by Khadgar and Althea Ebonlocke, they ventured off into Netherstorm to retrieve two of the three key fragments - the first already being retrieved by the Sha'tar - they required to open the door into the darkened tower.

After arriving in Netherstorm, those who decided to aid the Kirin Tor in its endeavours set out to find the fragments. The group was initially ambushed by a group of Fel Imps of which three were slain, the third escaping alive. Trouble was still brewing, as two crystal Giants assaulted the group. The two lumbering stone creatures were however repelled without casualties. The group, foolishly, split up at the Ruins of Farahlon which drew the attention of a large Netherdragon. Though the container with the fragment was retrieved, it was not before a battle with the dragon determined the group's survival.

Once the dragon fell, the heroes returned to Khadgar who stayed at the Stormspire and delivered the second fragment. Letting everyone take a small break, Khadgar transported himself to Shattrath and back, to get the first fragment before sending everybody still able off to Arcatraz for the final piece.

In here, they faced the horrors the Naaru kept imprisoned within their fortress. Flesh beasts initially tested the group's prowess before they faced off against a Void Terror and a massive Flesh Beast that nearly violated the Blood Elf Valerius, though the group staunchly came to his aid. The Void Terror's optic beam penetrated the human Warlock Murtagh before dying himself. When the group pressed on, they left Murtagh's body unattended - a nearby flesh worm feasting on the remains.

The group found the final fragment, or so Dellorne thought as he triggered a fake container's trap which knocked him and Jamma'gunda out cold while the group faced off against two lesser Eredar. A loving couple, but they were no match for the combined group. The room behind the Eredar contained the final fragment, the real one this time and the group decided to get out of this wicked place. When they got to the room where the Void Terror was defeated, only to be nearly overwhelmed by three large Flesh Beasts and a swollen worm. Khadgar was called in on time by Archmage Dellorne and aided the group to defeat the aggressors.

The key has been completed, but realizing that it no longer holds its enchantment to enter Karazhan, Khadgar decided that people must now go to the past with the key, to a point in time where Medivh still lived, and help him - so as to ask for the enchantment in return.

Any would-be heroes will be called to Dalaran by the Kirin Tor when preparations have been finalised to head to the Caverns of Time.

Part 2: Obtaining the Master's Key

Once more mortals who fancied themselves "heroes" decided to come to the Kirin Tor's aid. An unusual assignement came from Archmage Khadgar. Following the realization that his former key was useless after it got split, Khadgar saw no other alternative than to get it enchanted by the same person who gave it to him: Medivh.

Seeing how Medivh however is no longer walking this world, thank the gods or Light or Sunwell or Ancestors and so on, he was forced to contact the Bronze Dragonflight. The Bronze Flight was unable to open a portal to a past timeline, but Infinite disturbances during the events of the Dark Portal's opening caused the Caverns to open a rift themselves to this timeline.

Azeroth's "heroes" went through, and encountered the Last Guardian Medivh just defeating an Infinite Wyrmkin. Once he saw them, he believed this to be the work of the Fallen Titan Sargeras and accepted their aid. The group was besieged soon after by Chrono-Lord Epoch and his Drakonid. Right from the beginning the Infinite's displayed they still had easy command over the powers of Time, but the Drakonid and their leader were dispatched by the combined efforts of Medivh's "champions". Epoch did manage to lethally wound Indus and Jamma'gunda whom were saved in the nick of time.

Following Epoch's death, the Infinite Drake Temporus took over with his Chrono-Breakers. These proved to be just as much as a match like the Drakonid forces but they too were bested. Temporus however proved to be a far more difficult adversary than Chrono-Lord Epoch, putting our heroes to the brink of their energies before falling himself.

The Bronze Dragonflight came with aid from unsuspected corners, as they sent in Valsiir, Rhurok and Andanath. This put some new hope on the shoulders of those who were heavily drained as they then encountered the true leader of this offensive upon Medivh: Aeonus, the Infinite Dragon. Aeonus proved to be a difficult challenge to overcome, using a combination of lightning, sand and Infinite Breathes coupled with his own dominion over time. In the end, Dellorne's ice lance impaled his eyesocket and his brain, felling the dragon.

Medivh's ritual was finally completed, a large group of Orcs beholding Azeroth and knowing there and then that Medivh's promises were real. They retreated to Draenor, where the Horde warmachine could begin to unleash its invasion of Azeroth. Medivh then, instead of enchanting Khadgar's key, gave his own Master Key to Archmage Dellorne Silverstream. This to unlock any and all sealed doors within Karazhan, The key is bound to the Archmage.

Now, word is being sent out to the capitals to gather people to invade Karazhan and permanently deal with the remnants of Medivh's madness.

Part 3: Entering the Darkened Tower

With Archmage Dellorne Silverstream holding the Master's Key, the dark tower of Karazhan was opened. The malevolent horrors contained within its halls ready to unleash its evil upon any and all they'd deem trespassers.

A group of fifteen people entered the accursed place. Individuals with a variety of skills and fighting style, or simply ... odd, unusual 'people' for a mission like this. When the group entered the tower formerly inhabited by Medivh himself, they could already feel a darkness within their very souls, its true intentions not yet revealed. Greeted by Medivh's doorman Berthold, everybody (mostly everybody) realized that the tower's inhabitants weren't yet aware of their current state...

Believing themselves to be still alive, and within the same era of their deaths, the residents of the tower carried on their lives within the dark residence. Stuck in a cycle of feasting, dining and resting within Medivh's abode, they welcomed the would-be heroes as new guests. Initially deciding to check out the stables, the stablehand's rude demeanor sent them away since they lacked a horse. So they went to the ballroom, and waited - as Moroes, the Tower's steward was occupied with a dinner.

A reckless Hobgoblin stirred ruckus in the dining hall, causing trouble with some of the patrons eating, who viciously attacked the poor guy. Calmed down by our 'heroes', the ghosts resumed their dinner, even when the group walked up to Moroes. Annoyed by their presence, one of the dining Nobles, Lord Daris, struck and begun a lengthy battle between the tower's invaders and Moroes alongside of the Master's guests.

During the battle, the ghosts were overwhelmed, and destroyed while at the same time Moroes was a crafty one, avoiding and cancelling out attacks made against him more often than not. The group of infiltrators eventually outmatched the quirky steward but one last vanishing act caught the Troll Jamma'gunda off-guard. Moroes drove his daggers into the Troll's back and skull, killing him outright. The group had no idea where Moroes went until the dropping corpse of the Druid revealed him - where he met his end at the hands of those who were driven by revenge or sheer anger.

The group then decided to pull back from the wicked tower, Dellorne receiving his next mission.

Part 4: Finding the Logs, a Recipe for Disaster

Once more a group of so-called "heroes" were sent into the darkened tower Karazhan, this time with the simple request of Archmage Alturus to retrieve the log of one of the Violet Eye's agents: Keanna. They were to talk to a blacksmith called Koren, who could possibly tell them of the whereabouts of the agent.

As they entered the cursed spire belonging to the fallen Guardian, the fiendish powers residing within began, albeit slowly, to seep the lifeforce from what it considered invaders as they went to find the blacksmith for the information they sought.

What started out as a simple mission for information, and possibly an item of importance, quickly became a disaster as the group passed the stables' main guest. Unlike the other horses, whom were all boney and spectral, this one particular horse was alive. Clad in armor of unknown properties with several spikes mounted on top of the neck armor. The horse teemed with unholy energies but seemed harmless enough, and it was...until a Human by the name of David foolishly sought to mount the horse...

This enraged the horse's owner, Attumen the Huntsman, whom quickly initiated battle alongside his companion-steed Midnight. However as the Ethereal Kas'sahl succeeded in trapping the Huntsman, the unholy rider was willing to bargain. Their freedom of roaming for David's life. Although some were hesitant, others were quick to relinquish the foolish human for their own freedom. Dellorne in the meanwhile had spoken to Koren, and found out where Keanna resided within Karazhan.
While mechanical gnome unit S.O.N.N-E and Jr. occupied Attumen who still wished for David's life alongside the latter, the main group had already left for the guest's quarters. David and the Mechagnomes escaped the Huntsman soon after.

The group began searching through the hallway, and its rooms - finding nothing of value, unless you could consider the many concubines, mistresses and the Maiden of Virtues valuable. The Maiden was left unattended as their mission was to find Keanna or her log. During this search, the Elf called Ranthalion got himself swiftly killed - knocking on a cabinet from which a Harlequin with a scythe emerged, the scythe severing the fool's head instantly. Once the jester took the head and returned into the closet, Kas'sahl destroyed it - but left the cabinet unattended afterwards.

The buxom women within those quarters, little later, revealed themselves to be a variety of other creatures. Succubi, Banshees and even regular Undead. Although some of them were brutally and easily taken down, others with more resilience revelled in the pain they were dished out. Once they were taken care of, Attumen came up to them himself - with the log. Willing to bargain the logs of Keanna (whom remained unfound) for David. After his deal backfired and Dellorne managed to take the logs, the group briefly locked in combat with the Huntsman while others: Dellorne, Khazaan, Daliah and Kas'sahl, tried to remove a barrier that blocked their way out.

Daliah, a Sin'dorei priestess, found another way out and the group promptly took that exit instead. Once more Kas'sahl showed his value by trapping Attumen before fleeing himself. Though an exit was nearby, the group was intercepted by a brood of local, large spiders that was hungry and eager to feast on the invaders of their lair. Clever use of magic enabled the group to get past the initial group but the spiders managed to stop the firestorm Dellorne created and attempted once more to overwhelm the "heroes". Abilities covering large areas held the arachnids at bay as the group made their escape but instead of the exit, Dellorne had led them to a dead end and collapsed.

The spiders would hastily take advantage of their opportunity, trying to take Indus and Toothy (the Druid's bear) for them to feed upon. Although Indus valiantly tried to save Toothy while he himself was saved by his allies, the poor bear became a dinner for the large wallcrawlers - S.O.N.N.-E and Jr. collapsing the doorway the spiders could enter the dead end room from. Dellorne was woken up from his unconciousness - although by then Kas'sahl and Khazaan had already teleported out of the tower and gathered what energy he could to transport most of the group with him. Inprecision led them to the drained lake of Loch Modan, excluding S.O.N.N-E and Junior whom are still somewhere within Karazhan's halls alive.

After getting up from the imprecise teleportation, Dellorne opened the logbook and saw that it was nothing more than an old recipe for Alterac Cranberry Soufflé with a detailed description of how to prepare it, and the precise locations for the ingredients. This mission was deemed a disastrous failure, and the group went their own ways from there.

Part 5: Archival Problems

The one responsible for the archiving has had an accident, failing to mention what happened when heroes entered the decrepit halls of the fallen Guardian.

Part 6: A Lesson in Virtues

The one responsible for the archiving has had an accident, failing to mention what happened when heroes entered the decrepit halls of the fallen Guardian. At the end of this chapter however, there is mention that the Maiden of Virtue, a large metallic woman once located at the end of the guest's chambers, has vanished.

Part 7: The Show Must Go On

Karazhan was opened again by Archmage Dellorne Silverstream. The Kirin Tor and Violet Eye learned their lesson with the mechagnomes of the past and managed to gather together a group with more common sense though a sense of unity was severely lacking. After a brief...briefing Archmage Alturus sent Dellorne and the group, consisting of important figures such as Galleron, slayer of Deathwing and Lord Marshal Horadin but also a Forsaken Shadowpriest  named Morton and Cenarion Druid Vikki, amongst others.

They wandered into the tower with as a mission to find the source behind the curse that rested upon the spire's heavy shoulders and if need be destroy it so that it can wreak no more evil. They would have to go past the opera stage to advance. On the way there they were met by stewards of the driving force behind the darkness within the tower, skeletal magi that were easily dispatched. Already internal conflict occured afterwards, the group unable to decide which way to go. So it came to Morton to find out the right way to the backstage of the opera. Unneccesary violence followed with the deaths of two guards that were about to let the group pass.

Backstage they were met by a free-willed undead. He never said his name but he seemed like a real sharp manager and sent the group to Barnes who prepared them for their first debut as actors on stage. Even as they argued amongst one another that they were no actors begrudgingly they went on. They were taking part in a 'forbidden love' story, Romulo and Julianne. The loving pair fought but it was not to be. They died, together, their love not as strong as the spells and weapons of the tower's invaders.

The group moved on ahead, finding themselves pulled to the balcony of Karazhan. Here they witnessed a battle of the past that, for all its ghostly appearance, felt very much real. They could feel the power exchanged between blue dragon Arcanagos and Guardian of Tirisfal Medivh. They saw the Guardian's grim victory and drew the ire of the remains of Arcanagos - now Nightbane. Fleeing in time, they got new orders...kill the dragon and retrieve the essence Medivh had woven into the spell. Dellorne and Alturus also showed their true 'love' for one another.

Part 8: An Eye for a Dragon

After the revelations of a fight between a member of the Blue Dragonflight, Arcanagos, and Magna Medivh otherwise known as the Guardian of Tirisfal, the Violet Eye has tasked Archmage Dellorne Silverstream to retrieve the fallen Guardian's essence. This was woven into a spell used to destroy Arcanagos. Arcanagos, now called Nightbane, still held on to this essence even in his miserable unlife.

Though they got away from Nightbane's wrath (thank the many gods, Light, arcane and so on) after the vision Archmage Alturus decided that the essence had to be retrieved for studying purposes much to the displeasure of Archmage Silverstream. The Kirin Tor has sent out word to those in Orgrimmar, a Dragonmaw and his group reporting. Simultaneously a similar missive was sent to Ironforge to which one Bronzebeard dwarf and three Dark Irons answered. Those venturing into Karazhan had a choice to pick the orcs, the dwarves or refer themselves to the magus-senate's Arcane Golems, powered with a new crystal core. The group was in favour of the dwarves.

This time using the backdoor to Medivh's abode, the group went straight for the balcony to face Nightbane. Carefully preparing themselves before entering combat with beneficial spells, auras and minions or guardians, the group of "heroes" went onward. A night elf, a draenei, two humans, a half-elf, an orc and both a high and blood elf moved into position. The dwarves set themselves up on a dome, and prepared their mortars. The doors to the balcony had long closed and Nightbane drew near.

Nightbane opened balefully with a rain of bones. Many of these were removed entirely but those that remained became small piles that would become scythe-handed skeletons. Nightbane still showed to have a grasp on the arcane even in his skeletal form and forced Dalressar to block, removed Occultan's minion and nearly took over his elemental guardians - not to mention he managed to silence the whole group, mostly spellcasters and robbed them momentarily of their vocal magic. He gained the upper hand for a short while, battering people into the dome-roof of the stables with both claw and tail but his eventual suffering of explosive damage (both magical and physical) did the dragon in. Even when Nightbane opted to take everyone to the grave with him he failed - and Medivh's essence was retrieved. The only option then was some well-earned R&R.

Partially aware of the next assignment, Archmage Dellorne and whoever has the guts (or greed) to come along, will face off against the mightiest of Arcane Golems: The Curator. and secure access to the Guardian's library.

Part 9: Man Against Machine

Another quickly gathered group of clashing personalities was gathered at the request of the Violet Eye before Karazhan. Here a group existing of some humans, one of each kind of elf, two trolls, an orc and a Nerubian had come together and got the rules laid down by Dellorne Silverstream. After the rules were explained they moved to the side entrance where Nightwatch Commander Althea Ebonlocke informed them about the Curator and its great power.

Determined, the group went inside and initially struggled to find their way but eventually went up, the one direction that would lead to either their downfall or their goal. Here they clashed with spirits but easily disposed of them, and further up their greatest enemy were the old and worn staircase, otherwise known as the Broken Stairs. Through the use of the Nerubian's webbing and Korvin's magics aided by Dellorne the group got up safely where they met two Arcane Golems that displayed great power.

Though still worthy adversaries, the golems were dispatched but not before showing that their primary power cores are dangerous. Very dangerous. One of the golems was sucked dry, leaving a weak explosion behind but the other one had its core decimated at full power, leaving a crater with a 10 ft. radius. The bold "heroes" moved on, ending up in the Menagerie where their goal, the Curator, patrolled. Almost engaging by accident, the Curator spotted the Nerubian wall-crawling and opened fire.

What followed was an epic (*cough*) battle of man against machine. The Curator sometimes gaining the upper hand with hidden abilities and nearly decimating half the group with its tremendous strength and arcane might. Eventually the mighty colossus was worn down and began to replenish its energy, leaving him vulnerable. One of Occultan's construct-friends Rowan, hurled its weapon for the power core, destroying it and defeating the Curator but not without it leaving a massive Arcane Explosion that destroyed a majority of the hallway.

After the battle, they found Medivh's trophyroom where four items were recovered from before Galleron retrieved 400 fake gold coins with Medivh's imprint on the back and triggered the two Rituals of Doom that were set up as a trap. The group got the hell out of there before having to engage the two Doomguards and are now going to prepare to venture into that which would make any mage cream their pants...the library of Karazhan. Medivh's valued knowledge.

Part 10: Karazhan Library Card

The Kirin Tor has again sent a group of adventurers or officials into the dark tower Karazhan. Their goal? To raid the fallen Guardian's library, treasureroom and to discover what dark powers keep the tower so vibrant and alive. They had little information to go on this time, other than the fact that they left two trap-triggered Doomguard alive before fleeing the last time.

They set about their task and their first enemy was the dreaded, rotting staircase that they skipped entirely by using the Nerubian's self-spun threading. The Nerubian, present but not around, forced them to use different means. Korvin and Dellorne, at the behest of Laniria Lightbreaker, conjured a rope for Korvin to climb up with. As he did so, the wild cackling of Imps resounded as they promptly began to bombard the stairs with fel firebolts. Korvin and Dellorne linked up a portal to get to the second floor - and to help everybody up. Meshani sent her Earth Elemental to deal with the Imps in the meanwhile, killing only two while the other three fled to warn their masters.

Through the ingenius use of magic, the magi got the group to the top floor of the staircase and set out to the old trophyroom. Here, in the hall where the Curator fell, the two earlier mentioned Doomguard fed upon its residual power and had grown beyond their usual sizes. The group fought against the Doomguard that succeeded in being quite the pain in the side before they went down after a decent struggle. The group raided what remained of the trophyroom and made way for the library.

In here they've only faced a fraction of the horrors that lurk through Karazhan's halls. Possessing Wraiths, more hostile Golems, magic-immune-energy-draining Mana Wyrms, cursed items and traps. The group also discovered that Karazhan is partially embedded into the  Twisting Nether, the roof of the library seeming inexistant, the tower permanently in a state of disrepair with floating debris. One thing is for certain. There is a great evil residing in the tower...it's anyone's guess who or what it is.

Part 11: Karazhan Library Subscription

After discovering the famous...or infamous...library belonging to the fallen Guardian Medivh, those craving knowledge and power of all kinds were all too eager to venture into the wicked tower and venture through the tainted halls. As was reported to the Kirin Tor's Violet Eye by Archmage Dellorne, the deeper recesses of Karazhan appears to be in a permanent stasis of partial crumbling, connected to some sort of boundless space that is presumed to be the Twisting Nether itself. Archmage Leryda had to see this with her own eyes, and departed the library's halls afterwards.

Greed drives many people, or creatures of intelligence. Greed is dangerous, most certainly reckless greed. Karik'thir triggered one of many traps on his quest for the shadow orb. An unknown voice belittled the group for its foolishness, the trap raining a devestating glory of felfire down upon their very heads. This decimated some of the precious books and valued items as well as licking the floor with its wicked flames. Both Dellorne and Kaldurian worked on taking care of the hellfire in their own ways. Deciding not to test their luck much further, they advanced to the upper tiers after a small talk with Kamsis, whom mentioned that Medivh's father, Nielas Aran, had quarters in the tower.

After scaling the ramp the group came across a large, cubic object. Ornate, almost beautiful in its own way, the orb had one socket where a hand and part of its arm would fit into. After several attempts to find out its purpose, the group discerned it served as a prison of sorts for one of the mightiest demons in existance: a fierce Doomlord. Though some desired to free it, and destroy it the majority decided it to be unwise and would move on. In the large circular room ahead they spotted a Felguard channeling over a spellbook, quite aware of their presence.

Karik'thir's greed again drove him, and nearly got him killed as the demon's enchanted axe was hurled out of nowhere at the Nerubian's side. The Argent Templar Frey tried to strike the demon, whom managed to quickly repel the divine assault. A failed attempt to banish the demon led to it trying to release the doomlord himself but he was defeated before that attempt became successful. The group had the opportunity to explore the room, Dellorne and Incandesca nearly getting incinerated by flame-breathing Gargoyle statues. To scout ahead, Dellorne used his lately obtained raven form but got struck down by the book he so desired to get to. The Nerubian managed to get the group into the room without passing the gargoyles and thus it was free for exploration. Here, the group faced some minor threats such as a pack of randy Fel Imps and a spell shade but for their own safety pulled back. Karik'thir has sworn vengeance against a random felhound that snatched a piece of his treasured shadow orb. In their retreat, they almost got destroyed by a dragon's arcanic breath.

Part 12: Extended Subscription

The Kirin Tor received a partially new bunch of idiots brave adventurers to venture into the tower plagued by perverting magics, the dead that don't quite realize they're dead, and teems with the promises of great power and unusual artifacts. Though the start was slow, the expedition's leader Dellorne first decursing a present paladin, they eventually got into the tower and began their work.

Once the tower's doorman transported them to the entrance of the library, the group immediatly set out on their way to ascend the grand hall that was partially drowning in the Twisting Nether. Reckless greed ... or simply carelessness ... again harmed the group as a replaced trap, the same trap the Nerubian fell for, was triggered by Toke'gara. By trying to fuse his shadow fragments with a fake one on the floor he had triggered a surprise that rained hellish fire from the boundless skies and already put the group on extreme alert. After talking some things over with the ghost of a Violet Eye agent by the name of Kamsis, and very briefly hearing out the warlock Gradav, the group found out that Medivh's father Aran carries a special journal and that there is a Nether Dragon as well as another hidden room within Karazhan.

Setting out to ascend, Dellorne and Toke'gara took the brunt of a flaming trap that set them both on fire. Though their magic saved them, the amount of traps in Karazhan is considered to be too damn high. Moving up the first ramp they found warlocks harnessing their dark powers to twist one of the library's arcane guardians. Though they stopped the spellcasting, the sacrifice of the remaining warlocks - two having died by Dellorne and Vynlastus' efforts -  completed their work regardless. The new empowered golem struck out at the group, almost obliterating Gaeleran in the proccess. The group managed to damage its central core, a riskful move that nearly blew them all to kingdom come. Dellorne's innovative means to contain the blast worked, but almost failed. Still, the golem was down and the group moved on. The Archmage also had a brief run-in with a tentacle-in-a-book.

Gerik and Sollux, two goblins, cleverly used engineered goods to deal with a pack of demonic tricksters: Imps. Holier-than-thou Gerik gave Sollux a grenade that the latter threw down, taking care of all the imps in one go. Descending the platform first was Merinda, who signalled the rest upon safety. Here Toke'gara found his second Shadow Orb fragment. Not lingering on this platform for long they ascended again in a different direction. Here they found a sleeping fel-tainted Core Hound. Some wanting to bypass, and others like Renwell wanting to kill, the group didn't have much of a choice to fight when the disgruntled Warlock Gradav, also a member of the Violet Eye, woke the beast up.

Dellorne secured Gradav in a bubble to block his voice, while after that he and Renwell alongside the Draenic mage Silera dealt with the demonic beast. Renwell managed to banish it after it was severely injured but it was to return shortly after. The group moved on to Aran's quarters to talk with the man who is Medivh's father. However Aran was hostile, instantly engaging in battle. The group had to pull a swift retreat, the Core Hound returning as well halfway. Infighting nearly killed the group, and resulted with Dellorne's mass teleportation to be prevented. Before the Archmage passed out he pulled in Toke'gara who was in the back of Aran's room dealing with the magus. Silera used Dellorne's teleportation orb to get out of Karazhan. Gresik paid for causing the infighting with his life.

Renwell was out of range, having taken care of the hellish hound. About to take his death like a man, Vynlastus summoned him out of Karazhan at the last second, sparing him the tortured life as a ghost in the haunted tower. Those too injured were dragged off to Dalaran for medical treatment. Archmage Dellorne Silverstream has also pleaded for Goblins to be forbidden from further expeditions. A decision has yet to be made about his request.

Part 13: Ghostbusters

This time prepared and led by Dellorne Silverstream, a small group of people ventured into Karazhan to bring down the father of he who spawned so much vile evil on Azeroth by opening the Dark Portal, Nielas Aran. A magus of Stormwind that fell to his own son. Berthold, the tower's doorman, brought the group to the entrance of Aran's quarters where the band made their final preparations to combat Medivh's old man.

After they barged into his quarters they kindly wanted to speak with Nielas Aran's ghost but the fallen magus instantly opened with his magic. Summoning four Elementals, one of each element, as his protection. Karik'thir banished one of these and used a golem to combat the Fire Elemental. So prepared was he that he also had a contingency spell on him as well as a shield. The group, mostly existing of magi with one priest and a holy monk, took the fight right to Aran.

They overcame his contingency that shifted his position with Karik'thir, forcing the Nerubian to take his own Inferno attack, Maru's swordstrike and Laveena's flurry of divine blows. They faced Aran's time stop, mirror images and his great resistance to being dispelled. Halfway the fight, Karik'thir's Infernal was highjacked by a greater demonic presence, blowing itself up near Dellorne and his prepared Earth Elemental, as well as the priest Andorwyn. Though Dellorne came off easy, the priest was blown against the door that Aran had sealed prior to the fight.

In the end, Aran fell to the combined efforts of Laveena, Dellorne, Silera, Maru, Andorwyn and Karik'thir, and the Kirin Tor now holds Medivh's Journal that they're browsing through...time will tell just what they are up against in Karazhan.

Part 14: Do you want to play a game?

[headerfont]Archmage Dellorne Silverstream has kept the gate into Karazhan open and was believed to have travelled into the corrupt tower on his own promptly left Occultan, Aeryn, Karik'thir, Estelar and Merinda without his skills to explore Karazhan's halls beyond the quarters of Aran, Medivh's father. Before they went inside they found out from Archmage Leryda that there was a split with two ramps - one up and one down. Up was the residence of a large Netherdragon while the way down would eventually lead to the top of Karazhan but not before the Gamesman Hall was unsealed.

Moving on within they encountered shades. Though these shades have not seen Archmage Silverstream they wouldn't let our noble (or greedy) souls pass without a fight. They opened attack upon those foolish enough to venture into the tower and warned them with eternal doom if they went further. Destroying the shades, and with Karik'thir finding the 4th Shadow Orb fragment he desired the group moved on to find Ethereals arguing. Estelar and Aeryn aided these Ethereals, setting up a deal for one of their findings. A trade with which they agreed. Karik'thir found out that some other Ethereals held a fragment he desired however they were not willing to bargain.

They had gone with the ramp downward, advised not to go and fight Netherspite. The five of them reached a double door that resulted in a magnificent hall with a large chessboard in the center. Nostalgia bringing the group to the Wars of Old where Warchief Blackhand faced the forses of King Ilane Wrynn. Medivh played Occultan in a game of chess where they both controlled the Alliance and Horde respectively. Although Occultan was playing better than the Guardian, it turned out Medivh was a sore player. Cheating by swapping minions, destroying them and putting the other members of the group on the board the mad magus got Aeryn and Karik'thir killed.

Even with Occultan defeating Magna Medivh the cost of this game was still high. Karik'thir and Aeryn lost their lives in a cruel game of chance and fate. Some ghosts would claim, when asked, that they're somewhere else entirely. A demon's plaything where they struggle for survival because of their deaths in Medivh's unholy chessgame.

Now with the road to the top of Karazhan cleared, there is but one true threat left in the tower. Though Netherspite is a threat to the tower's safety the feared Eredar whose existance the Kirin Tor uncovered is the greatest of the two evils. This "Prince" of the Man'ari Eredar makes the Netherspace that the hallowed tower is partially entrenched in his home.

Part 15: Victory through Unity

For what some may believed to be a final time, the Kirin Tor's Violet Eye gathered one more group to venture into Karazhan. The dark tower formerly inhabited by Medivh, and now his wandering echo, had gained a new master: the Eredar Prince, Malchezaar. To ensure the success of this final mission Archmagi Alturus and Leryda gave Archmage Dellorne Silverstream and his companions the task of putting the demon down and wrenching Karazhan free from the darkness that held it in its grasp.

Brought together for this endeavour were Archmage Aeryn, Archmage Dellorne, a draenei mage called Silera and the warlock Occultan. In addition to these were valiant spirits such as Benitar Stalagtos, "Bertram" and various others. As a group they prepared and entered Karazhan. Moving beyond the chessboard that was the cause for the supposed deaths of Archmage Aeryn and nerubian mage Karik'thir, they faced off against aberrations from the Twisting Nether itself. After slaying these fiends, they ascended the tower and went to explore what was supposedly Medivh's own quarters where the Guardian has been rumored to have spawned the unthinkable (or maybe it was in his library, whatever).

Under the persistance of the darnassian druid Merinda Greenclaw, the group left Medivh's bedroom for what it was and scaled the final staircase to the top of the decrepit spire. Facing one final fiend of the nether, the group marched to the place to face their destiny. Here they met Prince Malchezaar in the flesh, and began their combat in earnest.

The Demon Prince's onslaught consisted of destructive fel and shadow magic, physical combat by using axes against Thyrion, a Kaldorei warrior, and summoning abyssals to his aid. Through Malchezaar's evasiveness friendly fire caused by a sin'dorei got another warrior without a name killed, the elf's meteor impact knocking the human off the terrace into the dark netherspace. Proven that unity and teamwork are a recipe for success, the group worked together to fend off and defeat the demonlord. Despite the group suffering tremendous damage because of the man'ari eredar's sorcery, they persevered against the demon - leaving the dark tower before their drained bodies would still remain within its halls.

The Kirin Tor has sent all of the group to Dalaran for medical treatment where it was due, and will reward everybody that fought against Prince Malchezaar personally, and soon.

Date & Time: SUNDAY 21st 6.30 PM BST

OOC information - Read before commenting
Although Karazhan is a raid instance dating back to the Burning Crusade, around the same time of the Shattering, the "Dark Riders" comics explain a small group led by Althea Ebonlocke were transported to the tower after attacking the Riders. In here they dealt with the Curator and the Opera Event. This would indicate that the "raid" was never really finished, even more-so seeing that aside from one boss, none of them were officially considered dead. This one boss being the Satyr Terestian Illhoof.

Now I didn't want to make a seperate post, so I'll put it here. The Black Morass, although somewhat different from the original dungeon, will be visited as well to obtain the key to enter Karazhan.

When these events pick up again, I will possibly turn away certain characters if they by any chance do not fit in in this setting. Such would be ogres, hobgoblins, centaur and other likely ilk.

A sunday is rather likely. I still need to set things up and I don't have everything ready yet NPC-wise so tomorrow won't happen.
