Gearboss-2.jpg

"Time is money, you appear to be wasting my time"

The Goblin with the plan, the deciding force behind man of IBS' ventures, the Gearboss, some lucky, or, unlucky Goblins, held this spot for the owner of the company, Nimsil Quickcoin, but none have succeeded as much as he. He knows when to push, he knows when to pull, he'll shove you off a zeppelin if you cross him, then pull the wool over everyone's eyes.  To mess with the Gearboss is to piss off a sleeping dragon, all he wants to do is hoard gold and die old.

Officers_0.jpg

Behind every great King, they say, is an equally great woman. On every great leader's shoulders, sit a demon and an angel, this is the Underbosses, though sometimes the Demon and Angel part blur together.  The Underboss is the top, they are the Gearboss' left and right hand, they are his eyes and ears, his most trusted-and untrusted companions.

Underboss

"You mess with me, you mess with the Gearboss, you mess with the Gearbosss, you messing with the company, eh?"

These individuals are different between each other, one can be hot headed, decisive and harsh, the other can be cool, kind and gentle. No Underboss is the same as any other, somes leave a mark, some clean up the marks. Some stir the pot, others leave it to simmer.  The Underboss will always be there to have a warm smile, a poisoned hand and a contract to sign a life away.

Manager

"Time is money, friend!"

A triumvinate of power, a trio of terrible people. These Goblins, be it two, three or four, are the best handed picked, to be preened and trained. To be given their own tasks, and their own paths, to do their duty without hesitation, because afterall, they're still paid by the Boss.  Each Manager is assigned their own portion of IBS to 'Lord over', allowing them all a taste of that sweet sweet power, that may lead them to higher stations and even to wear the Crown.

Supplies-2.jpg

Every big Corporation needs supplies, but also something to be soled for Profitable numbers. The Profiteers and Entrepreneurs are the Gobs that do all of that! They find something, create or trade something only to be soled for a bigger profit. There is only two words that will come in mind when you want to describe these Goblins, -Moolah Makers-. If you have a nose for business, the Suppliers is just something for you!

Profiteer

"My friend, my friend, come in, come in, have a seat!"

Profiteers, the gold tooth with a warm smile, the twinkling wink to seal the deal, the shadey shakes in a dark corner, each profiteer is their own self-made man, or woman, they can sell anything if they put their mind to it, and this is why Profiteers have one of the higher promotion rates, because they can be counted on to their job and do their job well. If you want to sell a can of cola to a Tauren, or a fishing boat to some Forsaken, then be a Profiteer and earn us some money, as Nimsil says: "Git ta work"

Intelligence-2.jpg

The Interns wishing to become agents of Gearfist are trained to join the Intelligence division. They handle the majority of Intelligence services provided by the Company. These Goblins, within outdoor missions are the eyes and the ears of the troops, providng forward sight, ranged support and tactical information.

Scouts

"Time is money, and money buys info, therefore information is key to time"

Spies, crooks, thieves, all sorts in the Intel, these shady goons, and goonettes, are the perfect Goblins for sneaking, chatting and slipping out the back, they'll ditch a date with a hundred gold bill and then chat up their sister, these men and women are so fine at their work, you might not think they exist, but do not forget, the Eyes of Gearfist are always watching, from high place and low. Always.

Battalion-2.jpg

The backbone and the Ironfist of Gearfist, that is the way to describe these iron hard Goblins. The Batallion are the Frontline soldiers of IBS. Thought it does not always contain of warriors with a shield and a mace. If you are tough, and you wanna show it, the Battalion is your place to be!

Bruiser

"I like money, you like people getting whacked, lets talk bizniz.."

The Bruiser, so commonplace amongst Goblin society, from high class parties, to low class tavern brawls. The Bruiser is the beast, the man behind the shield, the woman with the axe, the one who knocks. Brusiers, or Battalion in Gearfist, are the toughest, sometimes meanest and definately not the brightest, with thick shields and thicker skulls, they revel in the battle. Just throw them into a brawl and watch teeth fly, from all sides.

Intern.jpg

"I use tah have an opinion, freedoms, even a lil' digniteh, but now.. eh, 'leas' I hav' opportunities".

Interns get one choice, work, or get out. A good intern spends moments being an intern, being able to sly talk their way into a positon before the interview is even over. A bad intern, messes up, drops coffee on an Underboss and finds themself getting hung up by their feet.  Try to be number one, not number two, because number two is for losers and losers don't win.

Unemployed.jpg

"Yo! I need tah have some Moolah ya dig? Wha'? Get a Job?"

These Goblins are either to be interviewed or have been demoted cause the did something incredibly stupid.  Once the Manager gets to the interview, they will be given a Radio, a tabard after it and will be placed with the other Interns.

Specials.jpg

Separador.jpg

Ace_0.jpg

"Ofcourse, there's no danger in everything catching flames 'n explodin' like a huge helium bomb!"

Put on your goggles and fire up the copter! The Ace is skilled in piloting and driving. Whether they be great at piloting a Gyrocopter or shred like a maniac with Shredders, this is the Specialisation for you! Lets just hope for your sake you survive long enough.

Doctor_0.jpg

"Okay pal, ya hurt? Yeah? Bad news - this is gonna hurt a whole lot more!"

Injured? Wounded? Dead? Medics will be there to patch you up! … or nick your stuff if you die before they get to you. Being a medic includes giant needles and sharp scalpers, or even the more magical and divine aspects of healing. These Goblins are the best in their profession, and have capable hands. Oh, and we will sell your body parts if you lose them, cause we own you!

Caster.jpg

"'As if by magic... No wait, it WAS magic!"

The wizards and sorcerers of Gearfist find themselves as a Caster! Whether you fart fireballs, sneeze lightning or melt minds you will be welcome! All Casters are able to use some kind of magic! Or we hope they do, if they don't and die in combat, it's their own fault, no? Is it? Oh.

FAQ+1.jpg

Table of content:
1. Who We Are

2. What We Do

3. Joining and Recruitment

4. The I.B.S.Divisions

1. Who We Are
What is Gearfist I.B.S.?

Gearfist I.B.S. is a roleplaying guild, which means roleplay always comes first! There is RP every night, both planned and unplanned!

So what's this 'Gearfist I.B.S.' thing all about?

We are a goblin-only corporation (we still co-operate with other races, but Gearfist itself contains only Goblins.) that has roleplay based on three divisions: Intelligence, Battalion and Supplies.

- Intelligence covers sneaking and spying. For example: Eavesdropping, infiltration, and assassination. Other awesome Ninja tasks also apply*.

- Battalion covers fighting and combat. For example: Protecting cargo transports, following orders obediently like an oaf*, and charging into battle as cannon fodder*.

- Supply covers trading, crafting, and gathering. For example: Setting up profitable trades, making moolah, and crafting a shiny new Mechanohog (In that order).

(* FAQ written by current Manager of Intelligence Division, which in no way has influenced the composition of this text.)

What kind of role-players are you?

Our role-play is open to everyone, from beginners to experienced role-players, from the casual to the 'hardcore'.

If you are new to role-play then we can be a good place to start, welcoming anyone if they want to learn!

2. What We Do
Do you have events?

We sure do! There is almost always at least one event every night. If there is nothing on the calendar it is still worth logging in, since many of our events are unscheduled and will start when a sufficient amount of people is online.

What are your events like?

The main thing we try with our events is to make them fun! For our adventure RP events we usually have an officer taking the lead, though everyone is welcome to create events. If needed or requested, you may get assistance from an officer, and they will direct the event and keep it flowing.

A lot of our events are run in a manner similar to how a game master/dungeon master would run something in a Pen and Paper RPG, like Dungeons and Dragons, if you are familiar with the concept. We like using /roll and describing the situation and surroundings.

Examples of our events can be anything from escorting cargo, raiding goods, fighting the Alliance and creating business opportunities.

Do you work with other guilds?

We do whenever we can! Being a moolah making corporation means we need customers to interact with! Other than doing events with specific other guilds, Gearfist I.B.S. provides many gatherings open to the entire server to come along to.

I hear you have character development, what is that?

In Gearfist your character has the opportunity to grow. Rather then your character staying the same all the time, it can change and develop due to the role-play. An example of this is a character unskilled in fighting can be trained, learning new skills and becoming more confident and experienced.

One of our ways of doing this is our rank system. If your character does well (as well as having good activity), he or she will be promoted. Being of a lower rank won't stop you getting RP, it just offers more chances to advance!

We also have Traits for each rank to enhance your RP. Traits act as a guideline of what skills you would be picking up and be trained in - more details in the Traits part of the FAQ.

3. Joining and Recruitment
How do I join?

If you want to join it is very easy! All you have to do is contact one of our Officers. You can get in thouch through commenting on this post.

Another option is to whisper any of our members, who can direct you to one of the Officers available. We are easly fount through the /who list.

You can whisper us OOCly or send an mail ICly. You can even join through random role-play.

What classes do you accept?

We accept every class! Anyone is welcome to join us.

Who are your Officers?

If you want to join, as previously mentioned, Officers are your best bet. They can also answer any other questions you have which aren't covered in the FAQ.

4. The I.B.S. Divisions
When you first join Gearfist, you will be placed at Intern rank. This is a temporary rank, meant for those who have not decided which division they will join.

Gearfist has three divisions: Intelligence, Battalion and Supplies. Every member will specialise in one of these three divisions. Though most of our RP is aimed to be fun for all three, different characters fit into different places. There are also 'Specialties' which act as subdivisions for specific scenarios. These specialties are Aces, Medics and Casters.

Battalion

The Battalion is the main fighting force of Gearfist. Both regular fighters as well as spell casters, such as mages and elemental shamans are welcome here!

Everyone starts as a Bruiser but can soon move up to Enforcer with a little dedication.

Intelligence

Intelligence are the spies and assassins. The characters that fit here are sneaky and quiet, which is why only Rogues and Hunters are allowed in this division.

If you like the idea of infiltration and scouting then you will want to join the Intel division.

Supplies

Our final division is Supplies. Supplies is made up of the traders, crafters and gatherers of Gearfist, handling the business side. In events those in Supply can be found scavenging weapons and armour, dealing with goods being escorted, using their professions to help everyone else or simply making money by selling! It hasn't been unheard of for feisty Suppliers to protect their goods by joining in the odd battle either.

Members of Supply begin as a Profiteer and can become an Entrepreneur with a little work.

Specialities

There are three subdivisions, namely the Aces, Medics and Casters. These groups focus on bringing out the best in their member's unique skills!

Rather than being stand alone groups, they are more like additional group members of the three other divisions. For example, any member of Supply, Battalion or Intelligence could be a Medic.

Aces represent Gearfist's best and brightest pilots. An Ace is particularly skilled in the piloting and operating of vehicles, from Flying Machines to Shredders.

Medics are the healers of the company. A Medic can heal through magic or normal means and they're the first to help if any goblin blows themselves up, or suffers any other injury.

Casters are made up of all kinds of magic-wielders so they provide many different solutions to problems. Mages, warlocks, elemental shamans and priests can find themselves as a Caster.

This is a copy-paste-ish from our retail guild page, as I've just started this guild on Paragon, I am also looking for experienced RP'ers who wants to be officers, or an officer-like position. Feel free to apply here, or /w in-game!

I like your forum avatar because I like wolves with roses & use that picture on my steam...

But on-topic. Is this EU or US based? Because as an EU fag I'll look to with with IBS with my highborne, if able, or my Goblin if I can dig 'em up again.

Yeah, I'm from EU, so I guess it will affect it somehow, but I dont think I'll try to -make- it EU based.... I'm not even sure what you are getting at :p

Can someone say most detailed guild topic ever?

Shame it's Goblin only, with things I have planned on my engineer this could be useful.

Well, Gearfist needs co-operators, like... Deathrattle is in our guild, he provides help with all the overseas trading, and protecting, and he is a skeleton... you just cant IC'ly be a member of the corp. that's all :)

You can tell this was taken from Retail, where ironically Goblin RP has alot of more chance to exist.

I do hope you break my pessimism by gaining a good bunch of members for this guild here, and not only temporarily.

Now, to be actually productive there are still a few more established goblin figures on the server that could help, promote, influence or just deal with your guild. There is Slizz, a steamwheedle Mogul who is arguably the wealthiest one of the 3 goblin i'll use. There's also Trixie, who is a Trader master Alchemist and is looking for opportunities after her company "collapsed". And finally there is Djezal, my main char, a magic god, Trader and (still, will drop out soon) military person in the Bilgewater Cartel, and he is currently developing stuff for his own ambitions, meaning he is open for deals. He is less business-focused as the other two, but he is not incompetent in it if your guild is the sell-your-mother-for-gold goblin type.

It's a big guild is all.

Oh, and sorry, people kept pointing out that it seemed like a copy paste, even though I never claimed it wasnt... So I just automaticly assumed that you were going on about that same thing :p

Yeah, seems quite large and active. We don't have too many goblin rpers but like dune said, we do have a few dedicated ones. Maybe... drag some of your past guild buddies here? :D

Rather bring Moklohn Command, that was pure orgasm. More big guilds instead of big toons!

Well, sort of what I am trying here though. Jack aint much of a warlord :p, I want the guild to blow up :)

That's not regular on Paragon. Most people here are all about being the best at the best being empowered classes than just a bruiser or so. Thats why no guild ever survives Paragon. Except for 'hero' guilds. I hope this gets up though! Best of luck!

Tyvm, I didnt come here to play my ultimate RP character, I came here because this server has tools adapted for RP, and thats it :).

I still hold the humple RP style which is very much required to be a good RPer on retail.

This makes me want to play on Paragon again.

If I do, I'll be sure to join up with one of my old goblin-characters!
